It appears that SSEC at the University of Wisconsin has a "forecast" blog running in parallel to the IDEA product. When I clicked on IDEA, I got a blog which is really not a forecast but an analysis of the IDEA/MODIS/GASP products nationally. We should provide a link to this site and we should be checking what they find. If we have any agreements/disagreements, they have a comment feature enabled.
