Rain and clouds in the east but beautiful crystal clear skies west of the Mississippi today.
In the northwest, there seemed to be some light smoky haze mixed in with high cirrus. PM2.5 levels were moderate (20-25 ug/m3) in some locations. I could see a few plumes in the region and there is often agricultural burning this time of year. Additionally, fires continued in British Columbia and from what I can see under the clouds, the smoke is fairly dense off the Pacific Coast. Note also the recent snow in the Cascades and Rocky Mountains.
