Haze over southeast

Steady plume of haze today off the far southeast coast (Georgia, Florida) over the Atlantic, resulting in some moderate air quality conditions along the coast as this haze moves off.

The GASP AOD data (left image) captured this haze to some extent, MODIS Terra AOD (right) missed more due to sunglint and clouds. However, I thought it was interesting to see how these two sensors revealed this event, which is more easily seen in the true color image above.

Moderate air quality conditions continued in the midwest and northwest.
