Moderate AQ in Great Lakes Region, cloudy skies in the East
The Great Lakes region is under “moderate” air quality. In Michigan, levels reach 78 (AQI), or 29.2 ug/m3, at Grand Rapids. PM2.5 levels are good in Maryland with a concentration of 13 ug/m3 in Old Town Baltimore. An image from MODIS Direct shows the frontal system responsible for today's snowfall passing over DC and Maryland. Because the East coast in entirely covered, it is difficult to see if the haze mentioned yesterday is still lingering in the southeast. The haze present in southern California is visible on the true color MODIS picture and the IDEA image.
