Moderate AQI for the Southeast & Midwest
The air quality was mostly moderate for the Southeast and Midwest. Michigan experienced the worst air quality today, which was “unhealthy for sensitive groups”. Hazy conditions were apparent where elevated AQI was reported. MODIS true color images from UW and IDEA AOD displays the hazy conditions. A fire was also found in north Florida and eastern Georgia.

Fortunately I was in Georgia this weekend and was able to capture the hazy conditions in the city (Atlanta) on my way back to Maryland.

Smoky/hazy conditions persist over the Mississippi Delta and Gulf coast. Further west, the skies were cloudy and the AQI was generally good.
