Haze continued in inland East

The haze we've seen building in the eastern U.S. continued to move around hurricane Ophelia as she slowly moved along the Carolina coast today. Plumes of air pollution moved northeast and southeast today, as seen in the MODIS true color and MODIS AOD images. This produced moderate concentrations of PM2.5 across the inland eastern U.S., with higher concentrations (mid-40 ug/m3) in Pennsylvania and Florida. Notice how some pollutants seem to be entraining in Ophelia's southeast edge
