Poor AQI persists in Central CA

A high pressure system over the West Coast is keeping PM2.5 levels very high in Central California. Stockton, Fresno, and Visalia are experiencing PM2.5 levels in the Unhealthy range. Areas of the Midwest around Michigan are experiencing PM2.5 levels in the Moderate range. The USA is very cloudy today making haze difficult to see on the satellite images.

Internationally, there is a large dust storm in the Taklimakan Desert of China. A MODIS image of the storm can be seen on the NASA Earth Observatory website.
