January haze in the Nations Capital
Our webcam, which is overlooking downtown Baltimore, shows hazy/foggy skies (left image ? taken at 10:30am). We estimate visibility to be around 20km, which is approximately 12 miles. Today's NPS webcam image also shows hazy/foggy conditions in Washington D.C (right image-taken at 10am). Unseasonably warm temperatures are likely playing a role in hazy conditions (refer to Capital Weather).
Current PM2.5 levels are in the “good” (code green) to “moderate” (code yellow) range (<17ug/m3). Air-Watch.net forecasts mostly “moderate” air quality for Maryland. Stay linked to the blog for a report about the nations air quality.
