INTEX-B:Texas

Intercontinental Chemical Transport Experiment Phase B (INTEX-B) is the second stage of a multi-agency effort “to understand the transport and transformation of gases and aerosols on transcontinental/intercontinental scales and assess their impact on air quality and climate. The primary constituents of interest are ozone and precursors, aerosols and precursors, and the long-lived greenhouse gases.” [INTEX-B, nasa.gov]

We will be supporting the INTEX-B mission by providing daily posts of the UMBC GASP product (animations after March 12, 2006 are only available upon request). All posts related to this project will begin with “INTEX-B”. We also supported the first phase of the INTEX project (INTEX-A), which was completed in the summer of 2004.

Please refer to the first note of this project on our Smog Blog for further details.
