Hazy Midwest, more dust?

EPA AIRNow is reporting moderate PM2.5 concentrations in the Midwest and Southeast, concentrated in Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee for today. IDEA shows elevated AOD over these areas, and haze (which looks like smoke to me) can be seen in the MODIS AQUA image from today. The GASP image also shows elevated AOD in that area and a streak of elevated AOD from the Great Lakes through the Midwest down through South Carolina. I see some streakiness over Lake Superior (MODIS AQUA image) which may be related to the elevated AOD seen on GASP and the Asian dust that we have been discussing.
