Dust In Canada

The folks in Canada are seeing thick aerosol plumes between 5 km and 9 km. There is stronger scattering in the plume than in the boundary layer, and this lidar operates at 1064 nm, suggesting that the particles are large. It is likely that this plume is the dust that has received much attention in the past couple of days.

Thanks to Kevin Strawbridge for this lidar image
