Plumes Aloft

This morning there was a thick plume over UMBC between 3.5 km and 5 km, ending at 15:00z. Shortly after 15:00z another aloft plume advected over UMBC, which thickened and lowered in altitude over time. This plume was observed inside the boundary layer at the end of the run, however it was still quite distinct. There was a distinct return in the ELF 1064 channel (not shown), which indicates both aloft plumes are large particles. These plumes could be the asian dust that we've been following recently on the blog. Also, please note that the image color scale is still uncalibrated.
