Memorial Day
For those of you who have been following this web log for the last three years, you know we rely heavily on aerosol optical depth data from the MODIS series of satellites. The Terra Project Scientist and lead on the MODIS atmospheres team is Dr. Yoram Kaufman of Goddard Space Flight Center.
In a tragic accident between a car and Yoram and his bicycle, Yoram is in Prince George's Hospital fighting for his life. Yoram's friends and family are standing by him at this time and have been keeping wellwishers posted on another blog site on blogspot.
On Memorial Day, we all are thinking of Yoram and hoping he'll get back to doing the science he is known for.
