As seen on the GASP and MODIS true color image, the plume that we have been talking about for the past few days is advecting over the Atlantic and is mixing with clouds (see yesterday's post). According to the IDEA images, it is still slightly hazy in the Midwest, the East and the Southeast. The EPA AirNow map shows that some sites are under moderate AQ in the northeast, the southeast and southern California. Baltimore is under "moderate" conditions with a PM2.5 concentration of 16.5 ug/m3 (an AQI of 53) (EPA AirNow). The ozone reached the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" levels in Atlanta Georgia with a ozone concentration of 104ppb (an AQI of 150).
