Still hazy in the East

The Midwest and the East remain under hazy conditions. As seen on the GASP image below, the AOD is especially high in the northeast and southeast. This is also visible on today's IDEA images (north-south). The aerosol optical depth in eastern Ohio is very close to 1.

The EPA AirNow map shows that several stations are under moderate conditions in southern California, Texas, and in the southeast (15.5ug/m3 to 40.4ug/m3). However, despite the pollution, Baltimore enjoys a good PM2.5 concentration of about 8 ug/m3 (which is an AQI of 26).
