Shanghai Diary (Day 3)

It appeared to be a bit clearer today in Shanghai. Here's the photo from my window of my hotel room:

It was clear enough also to get a 250m MODIS image from this afternoon (about the same time as the photograph above.

My hotel is marked by the red plus sign. You can see that a lot of pollution is coming from emissions from Chongming Dao (island) in the Yangtze (Yellow) River. That island is covered in farms so it looks like the plumes are agricultural burning.

One more day in China and then back to the US. Happy Election Day. Go vote.
