Cloudy Skies
As we can see on this MODIS Direct image, most of the US is covered with clouds. Today, there is not much data available regarding the aerosol optical depth. The EPA AirNow map shows the moderate AQ in the Midwest and parts of California. Bakersfield CA is seeing elevated fine particulate matter with an AQI of 118 (49.1 ug/m3). The PM2.5 AQI is 49 (15 ug/m3) in Baltimore MD (EPA AirNow).
