Clouds, Rain, Improved AQ over Eastern US
Extensive cloud coverage again today did not allow AOD retrievals for much of the US and made smoke detection difficult. Airnow surface concentrations over central California were sligthly improved compared to this time yesterday, although one monitor in southern California did reach Code red earlier today. This could be related to continued fire burns in the region. Rain over much of the eastern US helped improve the pm2.5 AQI which today was mostly in the good range.
