Code Red in Northern Utah

Several monitors in northern Utah reached code red today, as hazy conditions continue in that region, apparently due to the presence of a strong inversion

Haze and fires continue in California, the great Lakes region is predominantly in the moderate range, and the northwest improved compared to yesterday with most monitors in the good or moderate range. . Meanwhile, a lot of burning in the eastern half of the country, particularly in the southeast, although no siginificant smoke was detected and the AQI in the southeast remains in the good range. Cold, dry weather most likely contributed to good air quality in the northeast.
