Air quality remains very good in the U.S. So, while I did a bit of "globetrotting" today, I did not have to look very far. The dust from Africa has made its way across the Atlantic to the southern Caribbean. I spotted it in the raw Rapidfire MODIS image of the middle of the Atlantic (raw, since no site produces daily reprojected images over the ocean). The NRL model (below) indicates the extent of the dust more clearly, as well as the pollution in India that Ana posted on yesterday.
