The Baltimore skyline, seen below, also shows a significant amount of haze. We noted the key bridge (distance ~22 km) is barely visible around noon. Using Koschmeider’s relationship, visible range = 3.91 / extinction, and assuming a visible range of 25 km, the extinction coefficient at the ground is roughly 155 Mm^-1.
