Hazy Gulf
Smoke/haze (AOD ~0.5 :source IDEA ), likely from fires in Central America, is present over the Gulf and may impact some southern states later in the week. Cloud cover and haze (over Southern states & Atlantic) is also evident over the Eastern half of the Nation.
AOD in the West may be due to some haze in the area, however, clouds and the bright surfaces may be influencing elevated AOD in some regions. The air quality (source EPA AIRNow) is generally good around the nation with few moderate reports in California and the East.
