Georgia fires continue to be the major story. We’ve been reporting these wildfires since last week and they still are apparent. Smoke is very intense over Georgia and Florida (AOD ~1.0), which is directly having an affect on the surface AQ (mostly moderate reports).

AOD was slightly elevated in the Northeast (~0.3), which was particularly noticeable over MD. PM2.5 was also moderate in the Midwest-Central U.S. and California.
