Smoke coming north

Fires are still burning in Georgia. According to the Fox News Report, around 85,000 acres have been destroyed. The smoke plume seams to be advecting northward toward Maryland. The air quality is "unhealthy" close to the fires, and "moderate" from northern Florida to south of Maryland (EPA AirNow). The moderate condition is probably due to the smoke. The AOD in the area where the smoke is very thick is around 1 (IDEA). The GASP map shows high AOD in the southeast. According to the HMS map, there are also several fires near the Great Lakes which could produce several smoke plumes.
