Haze west of TS Barry
Tropical storm Barry dominated the eastern part of the U.S. today, clearing much of the air with much needed rain. Some intense haze built up west of Barry, particularly in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. Below are the full MODIS Aqua images, followed by the MODIS aerosol optical depth showing the haze and the AIRNow data showing the moderate fine particle pollutant concentrations west of the storm. There was also quite a bit of smoke off the west coast of Mexico from many fires in the region.
