Moderate to Unhealthy AQ in the East
Ozone and PM2.5 AQI were moderate to unhealthy today over the midatlantic states.
Ozone in particular reached the moderate range over parts of eastern MD, NJ, PA, and NY.
In the DC metro area ozone remained in the moderate range despite +95 temperatures.
The high aerosol conditions in the east were also captured in today's MODIS AOD imagery, as was smoke from fire activity in Canada just east of lake Winnipeg. Haze over Canada can also be seen (lower right) at that same location in the MODIS true color imagery, as well as over southeastern Canada.
