Today one could say the heat is on when temperatures climed up to the lower 90s with hourly PM 2.5 concentrations in the range of 12.0 to 22.6 μg/m³ as reported at Oldtown. It has remain mostly clear here during the day with a slight haze in the evening. The first of these two plots shows a night time run in which one can see a lowering boundary layer and some clouds showing up around 05:00 UTC (1:00 am). This run was taken in our continued support for GALION, a global aerosol lidar network. The second run is one of the WAVES 2007 Aqua overpasses. One can see here the growing boundary layer from 1.5 to 2.5 km.
Readers note: the two plots are shown with different color scales to show features.
