CLOUDY CALIPSO OVERPASS

Clouds,as shown in the backscatter plot (left panel), advected throughout today's observations at heights greater than 10 km. CALIPSO's trajectory was about 106 km west of UMBC around 7:22 [UTC], according to the NASA LaRC Overpass Predictor. Dark red counts on the extinction plot (right panel) are due to clouds. Hourly PM 2.5 concentrations in the range of 19.5 to 25.9 ug/m3 [AQI Levels: 58-71 (Moderate)] were recorded at Maryland's Department of the Enviroment Oldtown site in Baltimore during ELF's operation.
