Code Orange in the Upper Midwest

Poor air quality continues today in the upper midwest. Most of the Minnesota monitors and many monitors in Wisconsin were in the orange (unhealthy for sensitive groups) range. Particulate Air Quality in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and parts of New York was in the moderate range. There was also moderate air quality over northern Georgia. It was too cloudy today for us to look at the true color imagery. Air quality in California and the northwest continues to improve though, and this afternoon most of the monitors reporting are in the good. range. The OMI map looks fairly similar to two days ago (see Nikisa's post) with high concentrations in the few locations with available data in the upper midwest, although the concentrations seem lower over the northeast.
