Unhealthy Air Quality in Los Angeles and Washington State

Air Quality remains similar to yesterday in the eastern half of the US. There was unhealthy air quality in Washington State and again in LA. See Ray's post from yesterday. The LA haze is also visible in today's
Terra RGB, although not as clearly as yesterday.

In the OMI tropospheric NO2 image there is also a NO2 maximum between LA and the Mexican border. We can see the signature of several other urban areas. The two regions of high NO2 over Texas, I believe are Houston (coast) and Dallas. There is also a lot of NO2 right around Mexico City.

Nice catch on the NO2. Interesting the NO2 in the lee of the front range in Canada. There is a lot of natural gas flaring operations in that region.

It would be significant if that is the source of that NO2.
