Poor air quality in California

PM2.5 concentrations remain elevated (moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups) in California and Utah (top image). Light haze mixed with clouds (bottom left image) is particularly evident over California (AOD ~ 0.3 – right image). PM levels will likely stay in the moderate range tomorrow (see EPA AIRNow Forecast). OMI NO2 values are also high in these regions.

Light haze lingers over the South (AOD ~ 0.3), which is particularly noticeable over parts of Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee (left image). Haze is also visible over Southern Florida (right image). OMI NO2 values are high in the South as well.
