Several sites (source: EPA AIRNow) in the South and Midwest are measuring moderate air quality concentrations (PM2.5 > 15 ug/m3). Most of the East and Midwest is covered with clouds (left image). Therefore, it is currently difficult to view haze and/or fires via satellite. Also, air quality conditions (right image) have not improved much in California. PM2.5 levels are the highest in Bakersfield, CA (~68 ug/m3 – code red). Ozone levels are high in Davis, Sacramento, and Woodland, California as well.
