Giovanni Tools for Air Quality

Check out the NASA Giovanni link in the "Other Links" section to the bottom right. Giovanni provides visualization and analysis tools for remote sensing data, including various data sets relevant to US air quality: MODIS Terra and Aqua AOD, OMI NO2 and Aerosol Index, and Calipso curtain plots with aerosol flag. To access maps and services, click on the Giovanni link and select the appropriate data set. Calipso data are located under the A-Train instance. I have put several Giovanni maps on our blog posting for Sept. 20th 2007 showing a mixture of smoke and industrial pollution over the eastern half of the US. To view the Giovanni maps, go to the archives section and select September 2007. The maps shown are gridded 1x1 degree products. EPA AirNow Gridded PM2.5 maps (see the posting for September 20th) are in testing mode.
