Moderate Air Quality in the Eastern US

Most air quality monitors were in the moderate range today over the Southeast and Midatlantic. In the northeast we find a mixture of good and moderate air quality. Elsewhere in the US air quality was good, including most of California. The left image shows today's MODIS Aqua RBG over the northeast and Airnow AQI colors. The northeast and midatlantic regions seem to have a mixture of haze and clouds/fog. Over Texas (right image) air quality was primarily good and there is also some fire activity, I see one smoke plume in northern Texas and another just south of Corpus Christi
