Springtime, when we look south for haze.

Overall, the particulate air quality is still good across most of the country, with a few areas in the moderate regime. One of those is in South Texas and northeastern Mexico (left image). NOAA HMS shows that the source of some of that haze originates with the fires in Mexico, Yucatan and Central America (right image)

The IDEA site at NOAA forecasts that the haze will continue to move northward through the midwest over the next 24 hours.
