Moderate Air Quality Across the Eastern U.S

Both ozone and particulate air quality were in the moderate range today across the eastern U.S and sourthern California. The two top images show the MODIS Terra RGB and Airnow PM2.5 AQI.
In Wilmington, Delaware, PM2.5 reached the unhealthy range. Notice also the large smoke plume over Page County, Virginia (right image).

Ozone was also in the moderate range over the northeast and mid-Atlantic (left). Finally, this NPS photo (right) over D.C at 6:30 PM does not reveal much haze, seems like it burned off from this morning (see photo at the bottom posted this morning) as the temperature increased. Overall, a very nice 'summer' day in the D.C area. Still hoping for some spring weather though....
