Moderate PM in CA and DE; Ozone is up in Texas

Two areas of the US had moderate air quality readings for PM today, with an unhealthy for sensitive groups in Wilmington,DE (left panel). In the right panel we have the readings across the LA Basin with AQI's in the 70's (PM 20-30 ug m^-3)).

And in the south, ozone is starting to kick up in Houston. The AQI hit 113 today in Houston and it was largely due to ozone. There are fires in Central America and Mexico as noted yesterday by Jill and the NOAA HMS predicted smoke all along the coast of Texas. It is hard to see with the clouds southwards of Galveston. The NOAA Forecast is showing that this evening a blob of high ozone would be offshore Texas and Louisiana but move eastward tomorrow over Florida and dissipate.
