Air quality is mostly good across the nation today, with a few pockets of moderate PM2.5.

Red flag warnings were posted today for most of Florida, as low relative humidities made conditions ideal for fires. A fire is visible in the Aqua true color image on the western shore of Lake Okeechobee in southern Florida, but it doesn't appear to be seriously impacting local air quality at this time.

Air quality will become very good in the Mid-West tonight in the wake of a series of severe thunderstorms that are moving through Kansas at this hour. The thunderheads are very apparent in the GOES visible satellite imagery. The National Weather Service reports that these storms are producing nickel-to-golf ball size hail, in addition to heavy rain.
