We've been participating in a discussion of the Chaiten Volcano eruption in Chile. The Daily Mail website has UPI photos of the lightning storm that came along with the eruption.
As a tease, here is one CALIPSO image of the multilayered volcanic plume on May 7. Simon Carn, Mike Fromm, Chieko Kittaka and others are putting together a very nice transport study of this eruption.
