Smoke in Florida and Unhealthy Air in Central California

Air quality ranged from good to moderate over the eastern half of the continental U.S. Over California, the ozone AQI reached the orange range (left image) in the lower central valley. The colors over the MODIS Aqua RGB are the overall AQI. MODIS also shows light haze over central California. Meanwhile, fire activity continues in Florida, notice the two plumes in the MODIS Aqua RGB (right image). One blowing east of Lake Okeechobee, a second in the southernmost tip of the state. Seel also NOAA HMS analysis for smoke plume location.
