Well, first with a follow up on the smoke Nikisa reported on yesterday off the California coast. I don't see much evidence of it over the Atlantic (left) although there may be some residual haze in the San Jose area. Otherwise air quality was good in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Northwest. The moderate air quality was concentrated over the south (right image) and it looks slightly hazy over Texas and Oklahoma. In the southeast clouds are obscuring our view from space, but surface monitors indicate moderate air quality over parts of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. There is also continued haze over the Gulf. The brownish area in the right image below is mostly sunglint, but there is some residual haze as well, The NOAA HMS analysis reports smoke in that area.
