Fine particle (PM2.5; EPA AIRNow) concentrations are mostly moderate on the East. Some lingering haze (mixed with clouds) was still present over the Northeast but moved out as the day progressed.

There are no significant fire or dust events present in the United States. The AOD (NOAA UMBC GASP IDEA) was relatively low across the nation, but elevated where lingering haze was visible. High AOD over the South is likely due to smoke from fires in Mexico. Most of this smoke is probably above the PBL, which would further explain the code green (~good) air quality conditions near the surface.
