Like yesterday, a homogeneous cloud capped boundary layer prevailed once again. Cooler temperatures were experienced today due to the cold air aloft associated with a low pressure system in southern Canada. This cold air suppresed the production of PM2.5, leading to the Good AQI levels experienced in all of the Maryland Department of the Environment ground monitoring stations. This is observed in the lidar timeseries as well, there is less particles to scatter off (aqua counts instead of yellow-orange) close to surface in comparison to yesterday's lidar post.
