Southeastern haze continues…

The southeastern U.S. is still experiencing moderate air quality (code yellow- left image; EPA AIRNow). Smoke/haze is visible in this region. Please refer to the Terra MODIS RGB (UW MODIS Today) and AOD (NOAA-UMBC GASP IDEA) products. Ozone concentrations (right; EPA AIRNow) are elevated in this region as well. California has similar conditions. Again, emissions from fires are likely contributing to the degraded air quality. Refer to previous posts on the blog for further detail on local emission sources.
