Beijing Olympics: Clear skies with haze pushed south and east

The northwesterly airflow that Ray mentioned yesterday produced beautiful clear skies in Beijing and points west. However, this lovely MODIS Terra image showed dense haze to the south and east, being blown away from the city.

In event news, Malaysia took silver in the Men's singles Badminton, eliminating the possibility of a Malaysia gold medal. The Chinese home crowd was overpowering. Perhaps next Summer Olympics in London will bring gold to the Malaysia team.
