Haze and Ozone in Ohio, smoke through the Dakotas, and wet in Florida

Things are changing a bit in the air quality across the country. The California fires have been reduced significantly in intensity. In the midwest, a band of smoke was seen across the Dakotas (left image) and in the rust belt, high ozone (right image) was seen near Dayton OH which at the time of the Aqua overpass was right under a large convective cell (lower panel, left). And finally, this haze is projected to move into Southern Ontario over the next 48 hours from the NOAA GASP foreward trajectories.

There are also moderate loadings of PM2.5 in Los Angeles but because of the high city surface reflectivity, you don't see anything in the image on the left. On the right, however, you can see why it is wet in Florida and Georgia today. Fay's raining and raining.
