Smoke from Midwest and Good AQI in Baltimore

HYSPLIT backtrajectories of the plume observed around 1.8-2.5 km between 14:00-16:00 UTC show that it came from the midwest (left figure). This smoke is associated to the high AOD region observed by MODIS and discussed by Meloe in her post yesterday. Good PM2.5 AQI levels were recorded in Baltimore, mainly because temperatures were below normal limiting the production of PM2.5. Boundary layer extended up to 1.25 km.
