Oregon keeps burning and the midwest is hazy

Another week has gone by and the Rattle/Lonesome complex fires in Oregon are still burning (see left image). In the midwest, it is gotten hazy in Missouri and the trajectories are coming from Oregon at high levels (1500 m). As Nikisa noted yesterday, at low level, the flow is relatively stagnant and burning in the region and pollution from the midwest may be adding to the haze levels.

The AIRNow map shows this regionally elevated PM2.5 (left panel). Further south, the NOAA forecast shows that ozone levels are high off the coast in the Gulf of Mexico (right panel).
