Southeastern Smoke Aloft

A rising boundary layer can be seen in today's observations. The boundary layer rose up to 1.5 km. NOAA HYSPLIT backtrajectories of the airmass/plume observed at heights between 3-6 km that the airmass was over the south-southeastern US prior to advecting over Baltimore. This plume is most likely to be smoke from the south and southeastern US states. The southeastern fires have been discussed for the past 3 days by Ray, Erica and Amy.
