A homogeneous boundary layer is observed today. Particulate scattering intensified within the first 850 m after 18:00 UTC. The polarization ratio timeseries showcase an increase in scattering due to non-spherical particles that is temporally coincidental with the increase in PM2.5 concentrations observed at the Maryland Department of Environment (MDE) Oldtown Station. This increase in PM2.5 concentration is associated with airmass re-circulation as northerly winds decreased and southeastern winds dominated later in the day, as shown in the MDE wind profiler timeseries.
